Specs
Eyewear, in full color

Specs makes prescription frames in colors the optical shop was too scared to stock — hand-polished Italian acetate in tangerine, grape soda, and electric coral. Pick five, try them at home for a week, keep the ones your face won't shut up about.

The group chat heard about us first. Then everyone else did.

Try before your face commits

Five frames.Your bathroom mirror.Zero pressure.

Glasses are a face decision, and faces don't translate through a phone screen. So we mail you the actual frames. Live with them, photograph them, ask the group chat — then send back what didn't make the cut.

Pick five, pay nothing

Choose any five frames from the collection. We ship them in a padded reusable box with a prepaid return label already inside. No deposit, no card hold, no catch.

A full week to decide

Wear them to work, to dinner, to the harsh lighting of a fitting room. Seven days is enough to know which pair you keep reaching for.

Send back the rejects

Drop the box at any carrier point with the label we tucked inside. Returns are free, in both directions, every single time.

Order your keeper with a script

Found the one? Add your prescription and pupillary distance at checkout and we'll cut the lenses fresh. The try-on pair goes back; your real pair ships in two days.

On the shelf right now

This drop, in living color.

Every shape comes in a palette we mixed ourselves — no muddy browns, no apologetic greys unless you ask for them. Here's what's shipping this season.

Grape Soda

Margot

A bold cat-eye in deep translucent violet that throws purple light when the sun hits the temple.

Tangerine Fizz

Rio

Chunky rounds in glossy orange acetate. Loud on the rack, weirdly flattering on the face.

Electric Coral

Bowie

An angular browline that means business, dipped in a coral so bright it counts as a personality.

Seafoam

Juno

Soft squares in a milky mint green — the gentlest frame we make, and the one that sells out first.

Lemon Drop

Felix

Slim rectangles in semi-clear yellow. Reads sharp on Zoom, reads sunshine in person.

Bubblegum

Dottie

Oversized rounds in hot pink with a keyhole bridge. Subtlety was never the assignment.

What's actually on your face

Cheap-looking glassesare easy. We didn'twant easy.

The color gets people in the door. The build is why they stay. Every pair is made from the same materials the heritage houses use — we just skipped the heritage markup.

Italian acetate, block-cut

We carve frames from sheets of Mazzucchelli cotton-based acetate, the same stock the luxury houses buy. It holds color deep through the material, so a scratch never shows bare plastic underneath.

Hand-polished for nine hours

Each frame tumbles in beechwood chips for the better part of a day, then gets finished by hand. That's where the glass-smooth shine and the soft edge against your temple come from.

Lenses that earn their keep

Every order ships with anti-glare, anti-scratch, and blue-light filtering as standard — not as a $90 upsell at the register.

Hinges built to outlast trends

Five-barrel OBE hinges, spring-loaded so the temples flex without snapping. The pair you love in a year should still close like the day it arrived.

Fit dialed to your face

Tell us your measurements and we adjust nose pads and temple length before shipping. Frames arrive ready to wear, not ready to fight with.

Worn in the wild

People notice. Out loud.

I've been complimented on the grape soda Margots more times in a month than on anything else I own. A barista asked where I got them mid-pour.

Bought the cat-eye, now eyeing the coral

The home try-on is the only reason I finally switched. I'm picky and indecisive, and living with five pairs for a week killed every excuse I had.

Took all seven days, no regrets

I expected the price to mean a flimsy frame. They feel heavier and smoother than the designer pair I paid four times as much for two years ago.

Before you squint at the fine print.

How does the free home try-on actually work?

Pick any five frames and we mail them in a padded box with a prepaid return label already inside. You get seven days to wear them in real light. Send back what you don't want, then order your keeper with your prescription. There's no card hold and no charge unless you buy.

Can I use my own prescription?

Yes — that's the whole point. Enter the prescription from your most recent eye exam plus your pupillary distance at checkout. If you don't have your PD, we'll walk you through measuring it at home with a card and a mirror in about a minute.

Why are you so much cheaper than the optical shop?

We design and sell direct, cut our own acetate, and skip the licensing fees baked into designer eyewear. Same Italian materials and lab-grade lenses, none of the middlemen. The savings are the model, not a sale.

What if the color looks different than on screen?

Screens lie about color, which is exactly why we mail you the real frames first. See the actual tangerine on your actual face before a single lens gets cut. If it's not the one, send it back free.

Do you take vision insurance or FSA/HSA?

We're out-of-network with most vision plans, so we provide an itemized receipt you can submit for reimbursement. FSA and HSA cards work directly at checkout, since prescription eyewear is an eligible expense.

What if my frame breaks after I've worn it for a while?

Every pair carries a one-year warranty against manufacturing faults — cracked acetate, a failed hinge, lens coating that lifts. Sit on them at a party instead? Reach out anyway; we replace accident damage once at half price, no interrogation.

Your face is wasted on beige.

Pick five frames, try them for a week, and pay nothing until one of them refuses to leave. Free shipping, free returns, no pressure either way.
